Heatherly Designs Collaboration | Custom Bedhead Design
Posted on September 01 2017
Recently, we teamed up with iconic Melbourne-based bedhead company, Heatherly Design Bedheads, to create a custom bedhead which we then proceeded to style three different ways to showcase the versatility of the piece.
We wanted to impart our signature relaxed, natural and bohemian aesthetic and to do this, we couldn’t look past The Piper bedhead. Striking. Unusual. Confident. The Piper is for those who like to push the boundaries. Wall-mounted tabs create a distinctive design detail and vintage leather gives this bedhead a handsome, roguish look.
One Bedhead, Three Looks
Customised in a soft, nude leather, we styled it in three very different schemes.
We wanted to create a masculine scheme for The Piper to really show off the soft nude leather which is typically associated with more feminine schemes.
Incorporating the bold black and white patterns with on-trend colours such as khaki is simple yet striking where texture and pattern are the dominant elements.
This scheme is all about texture. Whilst the Tribal look is more about pattern, the Coastal look is definitely about neutrals that are rich in texture… Everything from the natural throw to the shells, to the macramé wall hanging and the jute rug.
The only accent colour used is indigo blue, making the beautiful nude hue of the Piper bedhead a real feature in itself.
Here comes the colour! This time we wanted to create a feminine and fun scheme to really show off the versatility of the Piper. Whilst it is definitely suitable for a master bedroom, it can also work beautifully in a younger, more playful bedroom too.
Pastel mint greens and blush pinks make up the basis for this colour palette. We love how the blush pink linen works back with the nude leather of the bed head.
Our collaboration with Heatherly Design coincided with the recent launch of their second showroom in Sydney. We started the process by meeting Georgie Leckey, founder and CEO of Heatherly Design at the showroom to look at different bedhead styles, discuss fabric options and choose samples to take home for design boards.
Once the gorgeous nude Piper arrived, we got busy making her even more beautiful by styling her up!
